The Iraqi city of Ramadi is on the verge of being liberated by the Iraqi military that appears to have taken delivery of Russian armour and are assisted by Russian helicopters MI-35s (when have these helicopters been delivered to the Iraqis and when did they learn to operate them?).
According to reports, scores of ISIS combatants have been killed while hundreds have been captured.
The Israeli media reports a broader cooperation between Russia, the US, Iran and Iraq in the operation whose ultimate goal is not only to defeat the terrorists in that country but also to isolate Turkey in the region.
The USAF is said to be softening ISIS resistance in the city with airstrikes, the Russians have undertaken to prevent reinforcements arriving from Syria, while ground troops made up of Iraqis regulars, Shiite volunteers, Iranian guards and Sunnis volunteers under the orders of Iranians are assaulting the city from various fronts.
The Israelis seem to believe that the US and Russian militaries are coordinating their efforts through their respective operation HQs in Baghdad.
