US President Donald Trump has announced that he is firing Charles Brown as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). "I want to thank General Charles Brown for his more than 40 years of service to our country, including as the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a fine man and an outstanding leader, and I wish him and his family a great future," Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump nominated Air Force Lieutenant General Dan 'Razin' Kaine as the new chairman of the JCSO. The Associated Press (AP) writes that Kaine is a professional pilot. He has served on active duty and in the National Guard, and was the CIA's deputy director for military affairs. Kaine's military service includes combat in Iraq and special operations.
