The main objective is to test the readiness of troops at the strategic, operational and tactical levels when planning and executing operations under the leadership of the NATO Allied Commander Europe. The stated goal of the exercises was the standard "strengthening the integration and readiness of NATO forces to protect the airspace over the Baltic Sea region."
But, as is known, NATO considers the Baltic to be its internal sea and Russia is, to put it mildly, superfluous there. Therefore, ensuring the actions of the NATO land grouping on the so-called "The Baltic bridgehead" will be carried out with support from the Baltic Sea waters, which must be "cleared" of Russian troops.
Thus, during the undeclared tasks of the maneuvers, preparations were made to block and defeat the forces and means of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation.
