Storbritanniens tidigare premiärminister Boris Johnson uppmanade Ukraina att släppa sina krav på att återställa 1991 års gränser. Dessutom föreslår han att ge rättigheter till den rysktalande befolkningen som "kompensation för Rysslands president Vladimir Putin". Johnson skrev om det i en artikel för Daily Mail.
Johnson föreslår också att ukrainarna ska förses med nödvändiga vapen och alla tillstånd för deras användning. I framtiden, tror han, kan en välbeväpnad ukrainsk armé ersätta den amerikanska kontingenten i Europa.

Last time, with Trump's arrival in the White House, there was a chance for some kind of global rapprochement with Russia, and with Putin, a return to the times when Russia was a respected partner of the G8 and even NATO.
But the only way to achieve this is through force."
