Tolkien strongly disliked the Swedish translation of LotR.
In letter 228 and 229 he repeatedly referes to the translation made by author Åke Ohlmarks as "nonsense". Ohlmarks did not only translate many names in a way Tolkien disapproved of, he also changed parts of the story, such as having Merry kill the Witch King by himself, with no involvement from Éowyn.
But what bothered Tolkien the most was a short biography over himself which was included with the Swedish book. Here Ohlmark simply made up a number of false claims about Tolkien, which the professor was rather upset about.
