Woman Formally Charged with Stealing Pelosi’s Laptop During Capitol Riot
Nine months after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot prosecutors formally charged a Pennsylvania woman with stealing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s laptop and then selling or disposing of it on Thursday.
Riley Williams, 22, was charged with stealing the laptop and resisting police in an indictment unsealed Thursday. She also faces six other felony and misdemeanor counts for her role on the day.
In court documents, prosecutors noted claims by a tipster that Williams intended to send the laptop to Russia, and said those claims were still under investigation. Williams has denied the accusations against her.
