RT Statskontrollerad media från Ryssland · Igår kl. 12:00 · Russia is getting two high-tech ‘Doomsday’ planes – designed to house the country's leadership in the event of a nuclear conflict. According to an unnamed source in the military-industrial industry, the first of the new planes is now under construction, reports RIA Novosti, replacing the existing Ilyushin Il-80 Maxdomes, which are on permanent standby. With the latest technology, the newly built aircraft will have a much longer range and even be able to communicate with submarines within a 6,000km radius. The new planes, like their predecessors, can also refuel mid-flight and will be accompanied by fighter jets. However, many details about the new planes will still remain a mystery, as information about the aircraft and their contents are classified as state secrets.
