Nancy Pelosi being tone deaf isn’t new, but the degree of absurdity in her statements still finds a way to overwhelm you sometimes.
This time, the House speaker publicly thanked George Floyd ‘for sacrificing his life for justice.’ And of course, an onslaught of Twitter criticism followed.
Several users pointed out that a sacrifice is something one does willingly for the good of others, not while being pinned down to the ground in a chokehold.
Pelosi’s statement came mere minutes after the jury found Derek Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, guilty of unintentional second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter for killing Floyd.
