Every one of us as Americans are guaranteed basic fundamental rights enshrined in our constitution. We cannot take our freedoms for granted. I’ve introduced bipartisan legislation to stand up for and protect brave whistleblowers who have come forward to expose lies and illegal actions within our own government to serve the public interest — calling on the Federal government to drop all charges against Snowden and Assange. I’ve also introduced a bill to reform the Espionage Act to ensure that if a whistleblower is prosecuted under the Espionage Act, they will have their fair day in court — something that is not allowable under the law today.
